The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven is
written by Sherman Alexie. The story starts with the Indian man going to the
Seattle 7-11 for a Creamsicle because it was too hot to sleep. While in the 7-11
the cashier was races because he assumed that he was going to steal something He
had a white girlfriend that he always fought with and they eventually broke up.
He went back home to the reservation and his family was not surprised to see
him. Living on a reservation, people do not usually ever leave. After watching TV
for a while he left the reservation. He got up and looked in the ads and found
the job he wanted. He drove to Spokane to get the job and he did. One day he when
he was at work, his ex-girlfriend called from Seattle. She got his number from
his mom and she said that she glad he got a job. She asked if he had been drinking
because he was an alcoholic. Now he lives in Spokane by himself. At the end of
the story he said that he knows how his dreams end. I think this means that he
knows how everything is going to go in his life.
