Depression Part 2

All types of depression have very similar symptoms. I believe that the most common symptom of depression would have to be having a low mood. I also believe another most common symptom is having a loss of appetite or losing weight. Another symptom could be insomnia, which means not being able not sleep. Having a loss of energy is also a symptom of depression because the person is not sleeping. Depression can make a person not want to do their normal daily activities like going to work or being around family and friends. An individual could have reckless behavior as a symptom of having depression. Anger or irritability could also be a sign of having depression. Another symptom may be having a hard type concentration on different things throughout the day. If a person beings to start self-loathing they may have a type of depression. These symptoms can and probably will affect your everyday life.
Treatments are available for many different type of depression. The most common treatment for

depression would some type of medicine. The medicine that most doctors would give a person who

suffers from depression would an antidepressant. Antidepressants are used for many other conditions

like anxiety or eating disorders.  When a person has depression there doctors make tell them to

change their lifestyle.

Depression

In the book The Yellow Wallpaper that is written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman a lady is suffering from condition that is most likely depression. Her husband keeps her in a room alone for many days. He does not want everyone to know about her condition so he just isolates her from the rest of society. The book does say that a baby is with a family member so she could be suffering from a depression called postpartum depression. She also could be suffering from psychotic depression because she sees a lady in the wallpaper.
There are many different types of depression that can affect individuals throughout their lives. The first one is major depression and this is the depression is the most common. Major depression is a disorder that has periods of low mood which cause low self-esteem and not have interest in daily activates. Major depression can also be called clinical depression, major depression, unipolar depression, unipolar disorder or recurrent depression. The second depression is postpartum depression which happens to women after having a baby. Postpartum depression is a type of clinical depression. This depression has symptoms of sadness, fatigue anxiety and change in sleeping and eating patterns. Other type of depression is seasonal affective depression. This depression happens during different seasons like having the winter blues or summer blues. Psychotic major depression is another type of depression. This type is not like most of the other depression because the symptoms and treatment are not like the others. Some of the symptoms of this depression is hallucinations, daydreaming often and intensiveness. I believe the lady in the yellow wallpaper might have had this depression. These are just four different types of depression, there is many more.

we real cool

We real cool is a poem written by Gwendolyn Brooks. The poem is about little boys skipping school one day. Gwendolyn saw them while she was walking around her town. She wonder what they were thinking about and how they felt about skipping school. If someone did not know anything about poetry they would know that this does rhyme. In the very first stanza, which is the arrangement of certain number in lines, the third and sixth words rhyme. This poem has four stanzas.  This poem also has couplets in it. A Couplet is a pair of rhymed lines that may or may not within a stanza. The poem We Are Cool also has repetition in it. An example of repetition would be that the word we is in every sentence in this poem. I think that this poem is an epitaph because it is a very short poem. This would have a theme of skipping school and how they feel about their decision to not go to school.  The image of this poem We Are Cool is also not going to school and deciding not to go that day. This poem has many examples of terms used in poetry and should be use to show people how a poem could be written.

More about Laura from The Glass Menagerie

. Laura is not a very social person. All she does is stay at home and clean and cares for her glass collection. She keeps to herself pretty much all the time. I think that she is not social because of her legs and the way she walks. She does not want other people the look at her different. Her family looks at her as the person she really is. When Jim is at her house, he asked her what she has been doing since high school and she just said caring for her glass ornaments. Laura portrays that she is very fragile and innocent. I believe that she has her ornaments because they are fragile like she is. I also believe that she is in that state of being fragile because of her leg condition.  When Jim came over and had dinner with her family, she talked to him very softly and scared like because of her thinking she is so fragile but I think that she can overcome this just like Jim said in the play. Laura is actually a very strong woman. A woman that can walk all day outside in cold weather just so she will not upset her mother is strong. I also think that a woman that can deal with having a leg condition all her life and walk around all day is also very strong. While she was going to high school, I'm sure other student made fun of her legs and that take a strong person to just ignore that.

About Laura in The Glass Menagerie

Laura Wingfield is a woman from the play The Glass Menagerie which is written by Tennessee Williams. Laura is a very unusual type of person. She seems to be in her our little world which she is quite content with. The main characteristic of Laura would be that she is really shy.  I think that her shyness affects her daily life. When she went to business school she could not even stay because it made her sick so she never went back. When Tom her bother invites Jim O’Conner to dinner at their home she would not even open the door to let them in the house.  I believe that Laura is also type of person that is always scared about something. Once she stopped going to school, she did not tell her mother and instead went out all day visiting different places. She did this because she did not what to see her mother’s reaction. While she was in high school, she wanted Jim to sign her program, but never did because of his friends. Laura would not go up to him since she is scared of rejection and judgment. This is only about two main things about Laura, there are so much more.

About Hills Like White Elephants

Hills Like White Elephants is written by Ernest Hemingway. The story is about a girl named Jig and an American man that are drinking alcohol while waiting for the train to come. While they are drinking their drinks they starts talking about the clouds and Jig thinks they look that white elephants. They try a new drink that is called Anis del Toro. The American man tells Jig that the operation is very simple and that it not an operation at all. After the operation they will be back to normally and live happy again. The American man continues to tell Jig that if she does not want to have the operation then she does not have to. Eventually the train comes and they get on.

From the very beginning of the story you would think the operation she must be having is an abortion. In the book they talk about the clouds looking like white elephants and in some cultures it means something about a baby. We can assume that the American man is older because he is called the man and Jig is called the girl. At the end of the story we do not know if she really does have the abortion or not but we all know that the American man wants the operation done.

About A Good Man Is Hard To Find

A Good Man Is Hard to Find is written by Flannery O’Connor. The story starts out with the family all talking about their trip to Florida. The grandmother was reading the newspaper and saw that The Misfit was in Florida and that they should not go there because of him. She wanted them to go to Tennessee to take their vacation there instead of Florida. Well the grandmother did not get what she wanted and they were on their way to Florida. The grandmother told stories to the kids and they also read comic book. After a while on the road they stop for barbecued sandwiches for lunch. While they were there the owner and the grandmother talked about how people should be good and then they were on their way again. On the road the grandmother talked about a house that had a secret doorway and of course the children wanted to see it. After they finally got their dad Bailey to let them go, they start on a dirt road towards the house. On the dirt road they had an accident and the car went down a hill and the grandmother realized the house is not the state the house was in. They got out and flagged down a car which was The Misfit and his friends. Eventually the grandmother realizes who it is. The friends take the dad Bailey in the woods and kills him and then take the wife and kids to the woods and also kills them. The grandmother talks to The Misfit and about Jesus and he kills her.
